The incredible moment was captured on video and has since gone viral on TikTok, leaving millions of viewers in awe of Echo’s quick thinking.

Flames shot up

Jamie Simpson was cooking at her parents’ house when smoke began billowing from the pot.

In just moments, flames shot up, and Jamie, who lives with epilepsy, was visibly shaken and unsure of how to respond.

But Echo, her assistance dog, immediately jumped into action.

The video, shared on TikTok under the caption “Watch me almost burn down my parents’ house”, shows Echo first bringing a bowl of water to Jamie.

In her panic, Jamie tosses the bowl into the flames, which only intensifies the situation.

Not deterred, Echo races to the refrigerator, opens it, and pulls out a bottle of water for Jamie. “You’re so smart, Echo,” Jamie says, her relief clear in her voice.

A Viral Sensation

The video quickly gained traction online, racking up millions of views.

Commenters were blown away by Echo’s intelligence and bravery.

“Girl, you should list your dog as your emergency contact,” one person joked. Another added, “He was watching Paw Patrol.”

Not everyone agreed with the approach, though, as some viewers pointed out the dangers of using water on a grease fire.

The safest method, experts say, is to smother the flames with a lid or use a fire extinguisher.

Regardless of technique, there’s no denying that Echo’s response demonstrated not only his service dog training but also his unwavering loyalty and support.

More Than Just a Service Dog

While Echo is primarily trained to assist Jamie with medical emergencies, this video shows he’s ready to help in all kinds of crises.

The brave Border Collie has now earned a whole new level of admiration, proving that heroes really do come in all shapes and sizes — even with four paws and a wagging tail.
