Dog Drama at Work: Bulldog’s Furious Reaction to Labrador Goes Viral

A workplace experiment in Edgewood, New York turned into a viral sensation when a Labrador named Hurley brought some uninvited energy to the office, and the resident bulldog, Ruby, was not having it.

In a TikTok video that’s racked up over 680,000 views, Hurley is seen excitedly trying to play with a big ball while separated from Ruby by a glass door.

Ruby, a stocky English bulldog who belongs to the CEO of Lacrosse Unlimited, makes it very clear she’s not a fan of surprise playdates.

Ruby, known as the boss of the office dogs, immediately lets Hurley know who’s in charge.

She barks furiously and slams herself against the door, while Hurley stands there wagging his tail, ball in mouth, just trying to share the fun.

Eventually, a staff member lifts Ruby away from the door, but the internet couldn’t get enough.

What made it even better? A second video angle filmed by another employee—showing Hurley’s side of the situation—was uploaded later and has since brought in over 200,000 additional views.

Dog Drama Sparks Office Policy… and Laughter

Newsweek got in on the action, interviewing Hurley’s owner Maureen McLaughlin about the workplace pet dynamics.

“All our staff love dogs, so we have to coordinate with Ruby’s schedule,” she explained. “If someone brings their dog, Ruby has to stay home.”

But on that fateful day, McLaughlin took a risk. “Hurley just wanted to play, but Ruby made it clear ‘Out!’ She had to stay on a leash the rest of the day.”

Despite the hilarious tension, McLaughlin says the vibe at the office is great: “Ruby is usually the center of attention. We all have a lot of fun.”

Still, to keep the peace, Hurley might have to enjoy his playtime outside the office from now on.
