Cat Lost in California Wildfires Miraculously Reunited with Owner After Two Months
For two long months, there was no sign of Aggie.
The devastating wildfires that tore through Los Angeles and Southern California earlier this year left a trail of destruction, with thousands losing their homes and at least 29 lives claimed.
Among the many affected was Aggie, a Maine Coon cat who vanished in the chaos, leaving her owner, 82-year-old Katherine Kiefer, heartbroken.
A Miraculous Reunion
For two long months, there was no sign of Aggie.
Katherine, who had already lost her home in the disaster, feared she had lost her beloved pet forever.
But against all odds, the cat was found wandering near the remnants of their old home—malnourished, injured, but alive.
A viral TikTok video posted by Katherine’s daughter, Carolyn, captured the emotional moment when mother and cat were reunited.
In the clip, which has already garnered over 6.6 million views and 1.3 million likes, Katherine holds Aggie tightly, tears streaming down her face.
“We couldn’t be more grateful to the Westside Animal Shelter,” Carolyn wrote in the video caption. “Never lose hope.”

Identified by a Microchip
According to Fox 11, Aggie was discovered by rescuers and identified thanks to her microchip. Without it, she might never have made it back to Katherine.
The elderly woman, overwhelmed with emotion, described the bond with her cat as “like the one you have with your children.”
Aggie’s Long Road to Recovery
While Aggie survived, she still has a long way to go.
“She was practically skin and bones, completely starved,” Carolyn told the Associated Press.
Due to the extensive medical care Aggie now requires, the family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with treatment costs, which has already received tens of thousands in donations.
